Council Chamber
Council Chamber is a Fae Halls dungeon and the site of the heinous crime that set in motion the crisis on Losomn. This is the seat of Fae government, where the One True King ruled from his throne, advised by the Fae Council. One of the council members is a traitor, though, and has assisted the Imposter by putting the One True King into a magical, eternal sleep. Ironically, though outsiders like you are universally hated in Losomn, only an outsider can solve this mystery: who murdered the One True King?
Objective
---
Discover the identity of the One True King's assassin.
Reward
Assassin's Seal
Your choice of either of the following (but not both):
• Assassin Dagger and Fae Protector Signet OR...
• Ornate Blade
Speak to the Council
Your first stop is the Council Chamber itself. Walk up either of the two stairways opposite the dungeon entrance and see a raised walkway that leads to the foot of three, tall pedestals. Upon each pedestal sits a member of the Fae Council:
Walk down the promenade to stand before the council members and speak to them. They charge you with exposing the traitor but warn that, should you make an accusation, you'd better be right.
When you're finished speaking with the council members, exit the chamber and proceed through the doorway to the right.
Find the Mirror
Work your way through the dungeon until it ends in a library. As you proceed up the stairs to a raised catwalk, you'll see a storage room with an intriguing mirror:
Walk into the storage room and unlock the door to your left—that's your quick way back to the World Stone just outside the Council Chamber. Before you leave the storage room, interact with the mysterious mirror, which will transport you to an area called the Council Tribunal.
Council Tribunal
The Council Tribunal is the same map but, as you can see, things appear differently. That's because you're now in the Malefic Realm, the dark counterpart to the light, Beatific Realm. You'll probably be attacked by a pair of Fae Armored Spearmen, so make sure you're safe before you look around. There is now a World Stone Shard in front of the mirror. Use that if you like, then leave through the door you just unlocked.
Follow the passage down to where the World Stone used to be and head up the sweeping stairway and back into the Council Chamber. The council members are gone, but the room is far from empty. Clear the enemies from the chamber, then walk across the glass floor to the bases of the three pillars where the council members were seated.
At the base of each pillar is a rectangular, colored key bearing the mark of one of the council members. Notice that the keys and their reflections in the glass floor are different:
Now that you're in this alternate reality, you can take the keys from the bases of the pillars. Take all three, then replace them so that each key matches its reflection in the floor:
When you place all three keys correctly, the great doorway leading to the One True King's chamber unlocks and opens. Walk up the stairs to either side of the chamber and enter the king's chamber. Approach the horrific, sleeping king and climb up the platforms to the left of his throne:
From the second platform next to the throne, leap across to the ledge behind the throne and pick up the Assassin's Seal. Now, stand on the leaves directly behind the throne and leap across to the back of the throne. Buried in the back of the king's neck is the Assassin Dagger quest item:
You have your evidence, so it's time to return to speak to the council. As you leave the throne room, you'll be attacked by a band of Fae Spearmen and Fae Archers, so be ready.
When the fight's over, exit the king's chamber and head back through the council chamber and retrace your route back to the black mirror. Interact with the mirror to return to the Council Chamber map.
Choice of Resolutions
Return to the World Stone and head back up the stairs and into the council chamber. Again, the members are seated on their pedestals. It's time to approach them with the evidence you found.
There are two ways you can resolve the mystery, and your reward(s) depend on which you choose:
- Accuse the correct council member and surrender the Assassin Dagger as evidence to receive the Ornate Blade.
- Accuse any council member but refuse to give the Assassin Dagger, then defeat the council members to receive the Fae Protector Signet and keep the Assassin Dagger, which Nimue can craft into the Assassin's Dagger melee weapon.
If you choose to make the correct accusation, you'll first need to open your inventory and inspect the Assassin Dagger. Rotate it so you can see the pommel. Inlaid into the pommel is the sigil of the council member who owns it:
When you make your accusation, make sure you choose the council member whose sigil matches the one you see on the Assassin Dagger.
To get all of the rewards, you'll have to play through the Council Chamber twice.
