N'Erud is not a world, but an immense starship on a generations-long journey to Alepsis-Taura, which the Drzyr regarded as their promised land. Unfortunately, disaster struck during the journey and the Drzyr are now either dead or...undead. Strange, symbiotic arthropods and gastropods stowed away on the surfaces of N'Erud. Eventually, the infestation grew and they exterminated the crew, leaving behind only the automated Custodian to guide the ship on its journey through the stars.
What Drzyr are left are no longer Drzyr at all, but corrupted, fetid creatures that can most easily be described as zombies. It is these poor creatures and the aliens who possess them who now comprise most of the N'Erudian population.
