The Vortex

Within a spire towering high above N'Erud's outer skin is every adventurer's dream: a hole in the ground to explore! You'll easily recognize The Vortex injectable when you enter a large chamber bathed in red light with a giant pit in the center:

Walkthrough

Be prepared to deal with a number of Robot Sentries as soon as you enter the large chamber. Once you've cleared them from the area, head to the central opening and start your descent by hopping down to the ledge inside:

When you land, be ready to fight a Sentinel Guardian that will rise up from the central shaft. Defeat it and drop to the next level down through the hole in the floor:

Continue to the bottom by jumping down two more ledges, then to the floor where you will see the Constant Variable Ring resting on a pedestal:

Take the only passage out to a sealed door. The door opens automatically and admits you into a small chamber with a twisting energy vortex and a sealed door exit:

Approach and interact with the vortex to be transported to the extradimensional lair of the Restless Spirit Aberration. This is a powerful Zombie Flyer that you'll have to fight in close quarters:

You receive two rewards for defeating Restless Spirit. The first is the Timewave mutator and the second is being transported back to the previous chamber, where you can exit through the sealed door next to the control pedestal.

Ride the elevator up to the large chamber where you first entered The Vortex to continue your adventures.
