Inspect and use the Ornate Key on the box to open it and obtain the Thaen Seed. Alternately, return the unopened Ornate Lockbox to The Eternal Empress to receive the Red Doe Sigil. You can also give the Ornate Lockbox to Spark to craft the Ornate Amulet. Find in the Widow's bedchamber in The Widow's Court on Yaesha.

Lore

The lockbox comes from across the sea, an unassuming heirloom from the era before the empress and even Yaesha itself. The gilding and crest on the lid were added much later at Jinas's request.
